What is the Wildcard?
- The Wildcard is a standby list for an unopened show that is reviewed by the Bookings staff after all guaranteed and committed preplacement work for that show has been fully completed. The staff works manually to place these Wildcard vendors, confirming with them first if that is necessary. Vendors on the Wildcard are not guaranteed to get into the show, and if they cannot be placed, their request is moved to the waitlist once the show opens for placement check. If they are placed, Wildcard vendors are required to pay the 10% deposit on the booking as soon as possible, exactly the same as if they had been manually booked by staff at show opening.
- There are different reasons a vendor may be placed on the Wildcard. Most are customer service courtesies, such as to regular returning vendors who had an emergency that kept them from vending at the prior show, or any recurring regular who somehow failed in purchasing their PPPP when offered (and has not made that a recurring habit), or any requests for table increases that Bookings received in advance of the placement check.
- In 2026, Bulk Booking contracted vendors who choose to drop their contacted table numbers down for any show with a planned “Yo-Yo Booking,” meaning they want to return to the greater table numbers at the next show following, they will be placed for the increase on the Wildcard for that next show following. Because this request breaks the contracted table numbers, Repticon no longer guarantees those greater table numbers, but will Wildcard for them, book them pending availability, and waitlist them if they cannot be accommodated. The lesser tables vended at the prior show will be guaranteed. This policy is per all 2026 contracts. More info about this policy is at this link: https://repticon.com/vendor-information-yo-yo-booking/
- Booking staff determines Wildcard placement on a case by case basis depending on each specific situation and will inform vendors if they have been placed on a Wildcard. Wildcard placement is not by vendor request.
