Regarding Yo-Yo Booking:

  • Yo-Yo booking describes the practice when a regular recurring vendor wants to drop and decrease their regular table numbers at the next show, but then they want to increase back to the higher table numbers at a later show.
  • Yo-Yo booking by established vendors generally causes complex booking problems, disrupting other vendors in the show regarding placement and the prepay offer (PPPP).  In the case of contracted bulk booking vendors, Yo-Yo booking also happens to be a contract violation of not maintaining the designated tables numbers per the contract.
  • As part of 2026 contracts, Repticon will no longer guarantee the contracted table numbers at future shows if vendors break the contract by requesting to drop their tables numbers at any prior show.  The lesser table numbers will be guaranteed.

Here are the specific policies:

  • Contracted vendors are welcome to permanently decrease the table numbers at any specific show for the remainder their contract as a courtesy. This often allows other vendors into the show who otherwise would not be able to vend.
  • Contracted vendors are welcome to request increasing table numbers at any show on their contract.  These requests will either be fulfilled, put on a Wildcard, or waitlisted according to availability. Though Bookings will work to maintain those tables for the rest of the contract once they are booked, those increased numbers are not guaranteed.
  • Contracted vendors who request a Yo-Yo booking, that is, decreasing at the next show with a request to return to the original greater table numbers at the next show following, they will not be guaranteed a returning increase in table numbers at the later future show, but will be placed on the Wildcard for that show for the increase which will be fulfilled according availability.  They will be guaranteed the lesser table numbers they had vended at the prior show where they decreased table numbers.
  • For emergencies to request the waiving this policy, please email the specific reasons in writing to [email protected] for review.  So long as there has not been a recurring problem, most typical emergencies that would waive cancellation fees may waive this policy.  Bookings will also consider the situation of a previously unannounced show being newly scheduled that would result in a contracted vendor not able to cover two separate contracted shows.

Overall, we ask that contracted vendors review their calendar carefully prior to completing the 2026 contract so as to have their table numbers be as accurate as possible on the contract.

Non-contracted vendors who regularly purchase the PPPP option may also be subject to these same policies should they request a situation similar to a Yo-Yo Booking.

Please contact Bookings via email if you have any questions.
