After three years in alternate venues (the Harborside Center in Clearwater, the USF Sundome in Tampa, and the Manatee Civic Center in Palmetto), Repticon is proud to have hosted the return of the ORIGINAL Tampa show to its longtime home at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. 2009's show was held at the Charles M. Davis Special Events Center, a clean and brightly lit modern facility that can be configured as the show grows to accommodate a layout even larger than the traditional Entertainment Hall venue at the Fairground. Building on the decade-plus history of one of Florida's longest running shows, Repticon was pleased to offer a 2009 venue that offers exhibitors and and attendees the best of both words: an upgraded building in a familiar location. In June 2009, this phenomenal show ran to enormous crowds that were enthusiastic about the sold out vendor offerings. After a great show at the USF Sun Dome in February of 2010, the Fairgrounds became available as the permament home for this show, and the Florida International Reptile Show, aka Repticon Tampa, returned to this location in June of 2010. With dates in September to follow, don't miss this most dynamic of all Repticon Shows!

The LB Reptile Experience
The LB Reptile Experience is a reptile rescue program from Jacksonville that takes over 400 calls a year for both exotic and indigenous reptiles. Returning to Tampa by popular demand, their presentation and seminar will be hands on, as the kids get to touch the animals and hold some of them, as they learn the special stories of these rescued herps from Bob Shumaker. If you like meeting the big reptiles, stop by this presentation and learn more.

Reptile Discovery
Bruce Shwedick will be displaying "Banana Girl" a 17 foot albino Burmese python and other reptiles that are a part of the educational programs he provides to schools and other organizations.
Bruce has recently completed his fourth tour of schools across the US. This year year he visited schools for the first time in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. These tours have now taken him to over 1000 schools in 45 states. Guests will have a chance to meet "Banana Girl" and have a photo taken with her. No fee will be charged for photos, but guests must bring their own cameras.
Bruce will also present programs in the presentation area on Sunday, which will focus on endangered crocodilians!
Bill Love of Blue Chameleon Ventures
BRING YOUR CAMERA!

Please check the schedule above for information as to when Bill Love will be giving this seminar.
Vet Checks for Your Animals
-Fecal exams done for $10 each on premises.
-Fecal exams done only during show hours (Dr. Alfonso will stop doing fecals 1/2 hour before closing if the demand is high to allow for closing)
-Fecal exams are only to help the owners determine treatment course, not a reason to return reptiles to a vendor.
-Reptiles routinely harbor parasites and the purpose of the fecal exams is not to dicourage purchases but rather treat them promptly.
-Fecal samples must be fresh, no older than 12 hours when possible (in the case of people bringing samples of their pets at home).
-Only reptile/amphibian samples will be processed. No other species will be seen.
-The fecal exam is a fecal float only. No smears will be done on premises. Each fecal float takes approx. 10 minutes to run so time will be limited.
-On Saturday, tests will start at 12:00 PM when Dr. Alfonso arrives at the show. On Sunday it will be from opening time.
-Owners with animals having parasites will be told the parasite present, which medication is recommended for treatment, and where to go for medications (Dr. Alfonso's clinic or any of their choice).
Tortoises!

Bill Murray from Redfoot Ranch and the Central Florida Turtle and Tortoise Club will be speaking in a live animal presentation on tortoises. Tortoise presentations don't happen at every show, so schedule a time to learn more regarding these magnificent animals sometimes known to outlive their keepers!
Invertebrates!
Todd Gearheart will give his popular introduction into the invertebrate hobby. That's spiders, scorpions, and more to all neophytes out there, so stop by and learn more!

Herps for Beginners!

Kevin from T & C Reptiles will give a presentation on how beginners to the reptile hobby can and should pick out their first pets. This is a great opportunity for anyone who may be thinking about getting a new animal at the show to be fully ready for the responsibility and fun of reptile keeping, and also find the animal that is a perfect fit for them. Be sure to ask questions at this presentation, which also often includes some live animals.
Hognose Snakes!
A special hognose snake presentation will be given by Jenea Wood from Guardian Reptiles. Learn more about these unusual and fascinating creatures that are still outside of the herp hobby mainstream. You will come to love the "hoggies."
Venomous Herps are Coming!

Repticon Tampa will feature our Venomous Display, courtesy of Home Grown Herps and Preserve Venomous. So stop by and see what slithers into the show, safely behind glass of course!

Under the Canopy Farms
A Repticon staple at our Northern shows, Tom Brown from Under the Canopy Farms will be coming to Tampa and giving a presentation on the wonderful & wet world of captive bred tropical amphibians.
Unusual Mammals!

If you love mammals as much as reptiles, stop by PC Reptiles and Exotics to meet some of their monkeys and other exotic mammals. There will also be giving presentations throughout the weekend involving both rabbits and monkeys.

Unforgettable Animal Encounters!

The Wildlife Rehabilitation of Hernando will be at Repticon Tampa with an opportunity for guests to have close encounters certain exotic animals. Animals planning to attend are a Lion cub, Siberian Lynx, Kinkajou, and Burmese python.
Not all animals will be available each day of the show.
